Polyester outdoor fabric is made with 600D 100% solution-dyed polyester yarns and a clear PU back coating. DuraSuntex DLT-PR1000 weighs 290gsm and is supplied in 150cm widths. The polyester construction provides strength and tear resistance, while the PU coating improves water resistance. This material is used for marine tops, trailer covers, gazebos, canopies, tarps, playground equipment covers, BBQ grill covers and patio furniture covers.
The solution-dyeing process
In solution-dyed polyester, colorant is added to the polyester polymer melt before the fibers are formed by melt-spinning. Color is incorporated into the fiber rather than printed onto the finished fabric surface. The yarn is then woven into fabric, and a clear PU coating is applied to the reverse side of DLT-PR1000 to improve water resistance. Solution dyeing helps resist fading; it does not make the fabric permanently fade-proof.

Cleaning Instructions:
Remove loose dirt by shaking or brushing off the fabric.
Use cool to lukewarm water mixed with a mild soap to rub gently into the fabric, thoroughly soaking it.
Rinse out very well and allow to air dry. Do not machine dry.

FAQ
How is solution-dyed polyester different from printed fabric?
Solution-dyed polyester contains color added during fiber manufacture. Printed fabric receives its design on the fabric surface. Solution dyeing helps color retention outdoors, but does not guarantee that fading can never occur.
Can the reverse-side color identify solution-dyed polyester?
Reverse-side appearance alone is not a reliable test. DLT-PR1000 has a clear PU back coating, which can affect its appearance. Use the material specification and yarn information to identify its solution-dyed polyester construction.
What does the PU back coating do?
The clear PU coating improves water resistance. DLT-PR1000 has a specified water pressure of 1500mm. Finished covers also need appropriate seam construction to control water entry.
