Our new eco range of pvc free mesh banner provide greener alternatives to conventional substrates that are made from PVC and notoriously difficult to recycle. Our Eco Mesh Banner material is made from a polyester scrim with water based PU coating. It’s far easier to recycle than traditional PVC banner materials whilst retaining the strength, look and feel of the conventional PVC based product.

Conventional mesh banners are manufactured by coating polyester yarn with PVC. Referred to as ‘the poison plastic’ by Greenpeace, PVC stands out as perhaps the most environmentally damaging types of plastic in use today. The manufacture of PVC contributes an abundance of toxic substances to the environment and at end of life it is notoriously difficult to recycle which means that it frequently ends up in landfill where is does not biodegrade. Eco mesh banner material is made by coating polyester scrim of the banner with a water based PU. The manufacture uses less water and produces less toxins and carbon. The finished mesh banner material can be widely recycled and the coating is biodegradable too. Many venues and companies are moving away from PVC products as a part of their environmental initiatives and our eco mesh banner materials provide a viable alternative.

Mesh is a perforated material that is ideally suited for the production of large outdoor banners that can be placed in exposed locations. The perforated construction of mesh banner material allows a degree of show through when compared to a conventional solid PVC material and this product can be printed on one side only (the reverse of the material is white in colour). The small holes in mesh material allow air to pass through the surface rather than becoming trapped behind it which could put undue stress on the material, causing it to tear.

Eco Friendly Mesh Banner Printing

Using a UV digital printing process allows us to produce high quality printed mesh banners on demand at any size and without minimum order requirements.

UV printing is a more environmentally-friendly printing process when compared to solvent based printing that emits harmful VOC’s (volatile organic compounds).

Until recently, the ‘weak’ point of our eco-friendly printing process was the nature of the printing material itself which being comprised of PVC made it difficult to recycle. Our new eco friendly PVC-free materials address this, allowing us to supply truly ‘green’ mesh printed banners that are easy to recycle with other plastics.
